Kieth Merrill is a motion picture writer-producer-director who has beer active in the industry since 1967. A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Director's Guild of America, his many and diverse films include both landmark and award-winning productions including The 1974 Academy Award® winning feature documentary, "The Great American Cowboy." That success was followed by several feature films, television projects, and an impressive array of additional recognition. In addition to the 10 hour miniseries "Wild West" for which he received an Emmy nomination. Merrill has completed nine 70mm films including "Amazon" which was nominated for an Academy Award® in 1997 for Best Documentary/Short Subject. Widely recognized as a pioneer of the 'destination' film, Merrill's "Grand Canyon: The Hidden Secrets" is one of the 25 most successful independent films in history. Merrill is also a founding partner of Odyssey, which introduced the first IMAX-compatible™ projection and camera system; Ultra 70. He has recently finished filming "The 12 Dogs of Christmas" which he wrote and directed.
