Occupation: Producer

Roy Conli lends his experience and expertise in animation and stage production to his latest producing assignment for Disney. Previously, he coproduced the Studio's 1996 animated feature, "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and served as a production executive for Disney's Paris-based animation studio overseeing production on the films "Hercules" and "Tarzan."

A California native, Conli studied theater at San Francisco's prestigious American Conservatory Theater (ACT). In 1979, he took a position with the legendary Pasadena Playhouse where he helped initiate a restoration of the neglected venue, contributed his talents as production manager, and guided the theater to its official reopening in 1983.

In 1984, Conli moved to Boston, where he continued his education at Boston University earning an MFA degree.

After graduation, he served as associate producer for the Camden Shakespeare Festival in Maine, where he supervised the production program and directed several plays over a two-year period.

In 1989, Conli joined the production team at the Mark Taper Forum located in Los Angeles, where he oversaw production for all new play development.

In this jointly artistic and operational role, he helped with the development of several Pulitzer Prize-winning plays such as "Angels in America" and "The Kentucky Cycle," as well as the longrunning Broadway musical, "Jelly's Last Jam."

He also produced the original production of Ariel Dorfman's "Windows," and an award-winning production of Heiner Muller's "The Task."
