Ancient Caves

ANCIENT CAVES tells the story of a young cave researcher from the United Kingdom, Dr. Gina Moseley, working with a team from the University of Innsbruck. Dr. Moseley, a paleoclimatologist, and her colleagues venture into caves to retrieve geologic "fingerprints" that reveal the climate history of our planet for the last 500,000 years. The production will capture extreme caving expeditions in France, the U.S., the Bahamas, and the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. The production is being directed by Jonathan Bird in conjunction with MacGillivray Freeman Films and the Giant Dome Theater Consortium. Image capture is being done with a 15/70 film camera and a RED 8K digital camera. Only the giant screen can deliver the ultimate experience and adventure of exploring ancient caves worldwide to uncover the intriguing history of our planet. ANCIENT CAVES is being produced specifically for giant dome theaters, shot in 2D with fisheye lenses. It is perhaps the first film in 30 years being produced just for domes.
