Most probably the closest you can get from flying without actually trying it.

Some people compare with other IMAX movies and say it's not as good. Well try filming while flying with a 30 pounds camera attach to yourself ...

I fly regularly with those Quebec BASE Jumpers (Mario, Martin and Bertrand) and I can assure you, after talking with them and the producer (Carl), there is no way this will ever be done again unless the technology permits much smaller cameras to produce IMAX size images. Too difficult.

The DVD is on sale on Amazon. Songs are: Hadley "Touch The Sky" and Afro-Celt Sound System with Peter Gabriel "When You're Falling".

As to why it doesn't play in more IMAX theaters, well, the theaters just aren't interrested. I don't understand why. Ask for it. Maybe they just don't realize people want to see such movies that aren't only about sceneries but also that are exciting.

Will play at Toronto OMNIMAX starting April 29th.

I too enjoyed this movie immensely and saw it twice at the Boston Museum of Science Omnimax theature. One of the benefits of seeing things like skydiving, base jumping, space travel and earth through the window of the space shuttle (other films!), and the top of Mt Everest on a huge Imax screen is that for most of us, this is the closest we will ever come to that experience and it's almost like being there or doing that.

The team responsible for researching information regarding flying machines failed to examine the first true inventor of an apparatus to harness flight.

This film fails to recognize the first person to actually design, construct and test a flying apparatus.  I speak of Ibn Firnas of 9th Century Islamic Spain.

If they are looking to enlighten people with historical scientific facts the producers of this film should definately invest the time in researching the highly influential and most important contributions from the Islamic based scientific eras.

This was an Excellent IMAX movie. They could have gone a little more in depth with the normal everyday risks we take, more examples.  Also,  some other sports, besides skydiving, with risk.  Overall, a stunning show. One of the best we have seen!!

I want the names of the bands and songs from the soundtrack. Can anyone send me that list.  steverph@hotmail.com

thanks

While traveling from Denver CO to Rantoul Il to attend the World Free Fall Convention, I purposely went out of my way and stopped off in Kansas City to watch "Adrenaline Rush" on their big screen. It was a Friday 10:00 am show and there was only six other people in the theater with me. Grandma, Grandpa and their 10 year old grand daughter as well as over weight mom, pop and their over weight teenage son. So I kind of figured I was the only skydiver in the crowd. I really would have like to have sat down with these other people to get their impressions on the film and on what they thought of skydiving and of base jumping, but I still had many more hours of traveling ahead of me and I needed to hit the road.

"Adrenaline Rush" lived up to every expectation I had towards this movie. I wanted to see this film to determine if what the film makers said about people like myself being true or not in terms of why I skydive. And to have the film displayed on a giant Imax sized screen only added to my positive experience.

It is hard to imagine why some people would dislike this movie, but at least one person who wrote a review openly stated that they thought it was a waste of Imax film. I believe that the people like this do not have a clue as to how difficult some of the stunts in the movie were to make. But I was thoroughly impressed with not only cinematography, but also the narration of the story the film makers were trying to get across to the audience.

My hat goes off to the film makers and I can only ask two things:

1) Why isnt this movie playing in more Imax theaters?
2) How can I get my hands on a DVD or VHS copy of this movie?

This is not a good Imax movie. The camera work was choppy, the Davinci drawings wasted on the big screen, and the computer graphics much too dated. Watching children play ball on a several story screen is a waste of Imax potential. The admission is much more than this film is worth. Sky diving does not transfer to the screen well at the best of times, and this was not the best of times. The base jumping alone elevated the film to fair from poor. It took place in an environment that does Imax justice and those jumps alone generated any adrenaline whatsoever. If you want to see an Imax movie, I suggest you wait for the return of The Living Sea or Into the Deep. Until then watch this when it comes out on Imax Video.

The second song is "Touch the Sky" - I saw the movie this weekend, and thought not only was the movie great, but also the two sound tracks.

The credits zipped by too quickly for me to remember who the artists were.
