May 8, 2008: Speed Racer Revs Its Way into IMAX
IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that SPEED RACER, the new live-action film from the creators of The Matrix trilogy, will open in North America on 84 IMAX screens on May 9, 2008, simultaneously with the movie's wide release. May 6, 2008: IMAX announces financing deals to fund digital JV roll-out
IMAX Corporation today announced that it has entered into two significant financing transactions, one with Wachovia Capital Finance Corporation ("Wachovia") to increase future availability and modify other terms under the Company's existing credit facility, and one with the Douglas family, IMAX's largest shareholder, for the sale of approximately 2.73 million common shares in a private placement at an aggregate purchase price of $18 million. Proceeds from these transactions will be used to fund the Company's IMAX® Digital projection roll-out, slated to begin this summer, and for general corporate purposes. Read the Press Release >>

April 24, 2008: IMAX/Warner Bros. Hit $400M Box Office Milestone
IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures today announced that they have crossed the $400 million mark at the IMAX box office with films released through the partnership between the two companies. Since June 2003, Warner Bros. Pictures has released 16 titles in IMAX's format, five of which were in IMAX® 3D, including two live action pictures that were partially converted into 3D with IMAX's proprietary 2D to 3D conversion technology. All titles were digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® using IMAX's proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-Mastering) technology. April 17, 2008: Robert F. Kennedy to Appear on CBS, Radio
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will appear on the national television program “CBS News Sunday Morning” on April 20 to discuss global water issues and MacGillivray Freeman's recent release, GRAND CANYON ADVENTURE: RIVER AT RISK 3D. Kennedy will also be interviewed on the nationally syndicated “Peter Greenberg Worldwide” radio show on April 19. Peter Greenberg is the Travel Correspondent for NBC’s Today Show and will be talking to RFKJr about his Grand Canyon trip for the film. The show is broadcast to 158 stations nationwide and also appears on XM Radio.
April 16, 2008: MFF Offers Free Download of Living Sea for Earth Day
MacGillivray Freeman Films today announced plans to offer to the world a free digital download of its Academy Award-nominated giant screen motion picture THE LIVING SEA during the week of Earth Day, April 21 to 25, 2008. This online event is hosted by MSN Green, a new online resource for the latest environmental news, and marks one of the first major free film offerings of this scope over the internet. Users can find instructions for downloading the film for free at green.msn.com starting April 21. April 8, 2008: Grand Canyon Adventure $1M in Box Office
MacGillivray Freeman Films announced today that its new 3D IMAX Theatre film GRAND CANYON ADVENTURE: RIVER AT RISK 3D earned $1 million in gross ticket sales at the North American box office after just three weeks of exhibition, making it the first original 15/70 giant screen documentary of 2008 to cross the million dollar mark. April 7, 2008: Shine A Light IMAX Box Office Results
IMAX Corporation announced today that SHINE A LIGHT: THE IMAX EXPERIENCE, directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese, opened to very positive reviews over the three day weekend from Friday April 4, through Sunday April 6, grossing $1.1 million in 93 domestic IMAX® theatres. April 2, 2008: Dolphins and Whales 3D Makes Film History in Germany
3D Entertainment's new IMAX® 3D Theatre film DOLPHINS AND WHALES 3D has grossed USD 607,000 at the box office in Germany in its first two and a half weeks of exhibition, making it the most successful release ever for a 3D documentary film in the country. 47,000 German spectators have seen the film since its March 13th opening on just 17 screens. Dolphins and Whales 3D is currently being shown at 12 IMAX® 3D theatres in North America and is continuing its rollout with a total of 49 license agreements to date signed by IMAX® 3D theatres. April 1, 2008: IMAX To Open 3 New Theaters in Russia
IMAX Corporation today announced three new theatre deals in Russia. These deals will mark the entry of the first IMAX® Digital projection systems in the country. Under the terms of the agreements, IMAX's digital projection system will be installed in the cities of Sochi, Nizinhy Novogorod and Novosibirsk. In Sochi, the agreement is with Luxor Cinemax, one of the largest exhibitors in Russia. In Nizinhy Novogorod, the agreement is with Electronika, the city's largest consumer electronics retailer and developer, and in Novosibirsk the agreement is with Art Science Cinema Distribution, the leading exhibitor in Siberia. This is Art Science Cinema Distribution's second contracted IMAX® theatre system. The first agreement was signed in June 2007. March 31, 2008: Shine A Light Opens in Record Number IMAX® Theatres

March 25, 2008: IMAX Appoints Northstar Exclusive Rep for IMAX XXI Film Package
IMAX Corporation and Northstar Media have partnered on a distribution arrangement whereby Northstar Media has been appointed exclusive representative for the IMAX XXI Film Package consisting of 21 award-winning high-def IMAX® films. Under the terms of the agreement, Northstar Media will have the worldwide television, VOD, mobile, and broadband rights to this package marking the first time that all 21 titles have been available for these outlets.

March 24, 2008: IMAX/Regal Sign 31 Theater Deal
IMAX Corporation and Regal Cinemas, Inc. today announced a joint-venture agreement to install 31 IMAX® Digital projection systems at Regal locations in 20 major U.S. markets. The theatres will feature IMAX's Digital projection system which is being developed for the IMAX MPX® theatre design. The 31 IMAX® theatres announced today will expand the joint venture partnership between IMAX and Regal Cinemas to 38 theatres, and bring Regal's total number of IMAX theatres to 52 by the end of 2010. March 21, 2008: Grand Canyon Adventure Celebrates World Water Day
MacGillivray Freeman Films, producers of the new 3D giant screen film GRAND CANYON ADVENTURE: RIVER AT RISK 3D will celebrate World Water Day (March 22) by donating a portion of the film's box office sales to build much-needed water wells in Africa. The producers will donate $1 for every ticket sold on both World Water Day and Earth Day (April 22) towards building enough water wells to benefit thousands of African school children. MacGillivray Freeman Films Educational Foundation will work with Ryan's Well Foundation to build the wells at schools in northern Uganda. Read the Press Release >>
March 17, 2008: Dolphins and Whales 3D Premieres in Europe
3D Entertainment recently held the European premiere for its film, DOLPHINS AND WHALES 3D: TRIBES OF THE OCEAN. The event was held in the CineStar IMAX 3D Kino im Potsdamer Platz in Berlin on March 10. In attendance were renowned actress and the film’s German narrator Martina Gedeck, film ambassador Jean-Michel Cousteau, 3D Entertainment’s Mantello brothers, and Robert Hepworth, Executive Secretary of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS). March 14, 2008: Grand Canyon Adventure Brings Whitewater Excitement to Giant Screen
MacGillivray Freeman Films' GRAND CANYON ADVENTURE: RIVER AT RISK 3D opens today in select cities (in anticipation of World Water Day, March 22). Narrated by Robert Redford, with music and songs by the Grammy Award winning Dave Matthews Band, the giant screen film combines exhilarating river-rafting action on America's most iconic river with the first-ever IMAX 3D images of the Grand Canyon. The film is presented by Teva and supported by Kohler Co. March 14, 2008: IMAX Q4 and Fiscal 2007 Financial Results
IMAX Corporation today reported that it recorded a net loss per diluted share of ($0.25) for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007, compared to a restated net loss of ($0.23) per diluted share for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006. During the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007, the Company recorded a write-down of film-related inventories, reflected in cost of goods, totaling $4.0 million because of the obsolescence of film based equipment associated with the Company's transition to digital projection from film projection systems. In addition, the Company recorded a $2.5 million gain from discontinued operations related to the sale of a theatre in Providence, Rhode Island. At the end of the fourth quarter, the Company's cash and short term investments position was $16.9 million, down only slightly when compared to the cash position at the end of the third quarter of fiscal 2007.

- Company announces 107 signings in the fourth quarter, including the largest agreement in IMAX's history for 100 joint revenue sharing theatres with AMC Theatres.

- Planned launch of digital projection system late in the second quarter of fiscal 2008 remains on track, and continues to spur signings and help position the Company for growth.
March 12, 2008: Robert Redford to Narrate Grand Canyon Adventure 3D
MacGillivray Freeman Films announced today that Academy Award® winner and noted environmentalist Robert Redford will narrate the company's upcoming giant screen film GRAND CANYON ADVENTURE: RIVER AT RISK 3D a 3D film for IMAX Theatres. As new scientific studies forecast water shortages in the Western U.S. and around the world, Grand Canyon Adventure 3D explores the issues, presents real solutions and delivers an uplifting mess of hope for future generations, showing how ordinary people can make a difference for our parched planet. March 11, 2008: IMAX Digital Systems to Be Powered by DLP Cinema
Texas Instruments (TI) DLP Cinema® announced today at ShoWest that IMAX® Corporation will incorporate the DLP Cinema projector solution. Under the terms of the agreement, each IMAX® Digital projection system to be deployed to commercial exhibitors around the world, scheduled to begin mid-2008, will be powered by DLP Cinema projectors. March 10, 2008: IMAX Signs 35-Theatre Deal for South and Central America
IMAX Corporation today announced an agreement with Giencourt Investments S.A., a member of the RACIMEC International Group (RACIMEC) to purchase and install 35 IMAX® Digital projection systems in Central and South America and the Caribbean over the next six years. The agreement marks the largest international theatre deal, and second largest overall theatre deal, in IMAX's history, following on the heels of AMC's 100-theatre North America deal announced in December. March 7, 2008: Ben Stassen Nominated in Cartoon Tributes
The Cartoon Tributes nominated Ben Stassen for Best European Director of the Year for his work in Fly Me to the Moon. Organized by the European Association of Animation Film, the 10th anniversary meeting was held in Potsdam, Germany on March 5-7. March 7, 2008: Actress Martina Gedeck to Perform German Narration of Dolphins and Whales 3D
Jean-Jacques and Francois Mantello (the Mantello Brothers) and Jean-Michel Cousteau are pleased to announce that the German version of their new 3D film, DOLPHINS AND WHALES 3D: TRIBES OF THE OCEAN ("DELFINE UND WALE 3D – Nomaden der Meere" in German), will be narrated by actress Martina Gedeck ("The Lives of Others," "Elementary Particles," "The Good Shepherd"). The European premiere of DOLPHINS AND WHALES 3D will be held on March 10, 2008 at the Cinestar IMAX 3D-Kino im Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, in the presence of Jean-Michel Cousteau, Martina Gedeck and the Mantello Brothers. March 4, 2008: Speed Racer To Be Released in IMAX

February 29, 2008: Dolphins and Whales 3D Premieres in Boston

February 28, 2008: Orbita Max Starts Shooting The Magic Tale
The audiovisual production company Orbita Max starts next March 8th in Namibia the shooting of the first Spanish film shot entirely in 3D for large format theatres, digital theatres and conventional 35 mm theatres. The film, with the working title THE MAGIC TALE, tells us the story of a girl's fantastic travel to Africa, where she interacts with other children, wild animals, trees and plants that show her the way to the world of imagination and to the meaning of life. February 19, 2008: Spiderwick IMAX Opening Box Office Results
IMAX Corporation announced today that THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES, a fantasy adventure based on the best-selling series of books, opened well in IMAX® theatres over the five-day opening weekend, grossing approximately $1.9 million of the film's $26.8 million total, or 7% of the overall box office. Nineteen of the top twenty locations in North America included an IMAX theatre. The IMAX release also had a preliminary international opening on three screens, and will continue to open throughout the international IMAX theatre network in the coming days and weeks. February 11, 2008: IMAX to Enforce $11M Arbitration Award Against E-City
IMAX Corporation today announced that a Panel of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce found unanimously in favor of IMAX in an arbitration against E-City Entertainment (I) PVT Limited ("E-City"), and awarded IMAX $9.4 million, plus interest and costs, which IMAX believes will increase the award to in excess of $11 million in the aggregate. The arbitration involved an agreement under which IMAX awarded E-City rights to develop a minimum of six IMAX® theatres in India. E-City subsequently claimed that the agreement was a non-binding term sheet, that the amount of damages that IMAX was seeking for lost profits was excessive and that IMAX had failed to mitigate its damages. The Panel found that the agreement was fully enforceable, that E-City had breached its obligations under that agreement and awarded IMAX all of the lost profits that it sought under the agreement. February 7, 2008: Under the Sea 3D Coming from Warner Bros./IMAX
The official title of Warner Bros. and IMAX's third original IMAX® 3D co-production will be UNDER THE SEA 3D. Production began last month in Papua, New Guinea, where the film crew is photographing some of the most extraordinary marine wildlife ever captured on film. Slated for release in February 2009, Under the Sea 3D (previous working title, "Deep Sea-quel") will offer a uniquely inspirational and entertaining way to explore the impact that global climate change has had on ocean wilderness. January 24, 2008: Daryl Hannah To Narrate Dolphins and Whales 3D
3D Entertainment's new IMAX® 3D film DOLPHINS AND WHALES 3D: TRIBES OF THE OCEAN will feature narration by actress and environmentalist Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & 2, Blade Runner). Beginning its theatrical run at IMAX® 3D theatres on February 15th, Dolphins and Whales 3D will invite audiences on a journey of discovery with these marine mammal tribes of the ocean. The New England Aquarium's Simons IMAX® Theatre on Central Wharf in Boston (MA) will hold the world premiere of Dolphins and Whales 3D on February 13, 2008. January 22, 2008: IMAX Signs Two-Theatre Deal in Philippines
IMAX Corporation and SM Prime Holdings, the largest mall operator in the Philippines, today announced an agreement to install two IMAX® digital projection systems at shopping malls in the cities of Manila and Cebu. The deal follows the tremendous success of SM's first IMAX® theatre, which has been the highest grossing screen in the country since it opened in 2006. January 16, 2008: IMAX 2007 Box Office Results
IMAX Corporation continued its impressive box office winning streak during 2007 by generating $145 million for Hollywood releases, which is 56% higher than the $93 million that the IMAX® theatre network grossed during 2006. Hollywood films that played in IMAX theatres in 2007 included eight titles from 4 different studios, all of which were converted into The IMAX Experience® using the company's proprietary DMR technology in both 2D and IMAX® 3D. January 8, 2008: Nat Geo Names Best Buy Presenting Sponsor for U2 3D
National Geographic Entertainment (NGE) announced today that Best Buy has been named the official Presenting Sponsor and exclusive consumer electronics partner for the U2 3D theatrical release in the United States. The film, directed by Catherine Owens and Mark Pellington, was produced by 3ality Digital and will open in limited release Jan. 23, 2008, in approximately 25 IMAX™ theaters and will go wide to national digital 3D theaters in February. January 3, 2008: Trustee of IMAX Senior Notes Seeks Judgment
IMAX Corporation announced today that on December 21, 2007 it received a summons and complaint from the trustee under the indenture (the "Indenture") governing the Company's senior notes, seeking a declaratory judgment confirming IMAX's position that The Catalyst Fund Limited Partnership II ("Catalyst") has no basis for its legal claims against IMAX under the Indenture. The trustee, U.S. Bank National Association (the "Trustee") is seeking a judgment affirming its own, independent conclusions that, despite Catalyst's repeated claims to the contrary, absent a finding of bad faith: (1) no event of default existed under the Indenture as of November 6, 2007, (2) the maturity of the Company's $160 million of 9 5/8% Senior Notes due December 1, 2010 (the "Senior Notes") was not accelerated as of November 6, 2007, and (3) Catalyst has no basis for legal action under the Indenture. January 3, 2008: IMAX/National Amusements Sign Theatre Deal
IMAX Corporation and National Amusements Inc., the United States' fifth largest theatre operator, today announced IMAX's sale of the Feinstein IMAX® Theatre in Providence, Rhode Island to National Amusements. The IMAX theatre had been owned and operated by IMAX Corporation since it opened in June, 2000. Under the terms of the sale, National Amusements assumed ownership and control of the theatre effective close of business on December 31st, 2007. Read the Press Release >>
