The Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D

Congratulations on pulling together an unforgettable cinematic experience. Almost 24 hours later, I’m still seeing exotic fish, bikini clad Tahitian surfer-girls and Slater’s fins push right up against my face. That was a truly amazing film and I never imagined I’d get to see the ocean captured so incredibly on the big screen. Humbly speaking, I own almost every surf related movie / video dating back to 1964’s Endless Summer and I re-watch them frequently. I can tell you with certainty that not one of them can touch what you’ve done here.
As a lover of the ocean, I really enjoyed the process by which you engage the viewer on a multitude of levels. Last night I received the full IMAX experience and then some. When I think IMAX, I envision an opportunity to get up close and experience one on one what’s it like to feel the dangerous winds on Mt Everest, surf Jaws and in this case be thrown over the ledge at Teahupoo. If the main character of the film is the mountain or the ocean, IMAX offers you a chance to play a supporting role. In this case and this is not a joke, I actually felt as though I was dropping in on those waves with Slater and Raimana. Moreover, I’m sold on Tahiti and I have to get over there one day soon (I will bring a helmet!). I also liked how this film touched on friendship, loyalty, passion, tradition, dedication and courage. I can’t imagine it’s an easy task to mix cutting edge science and history with these other attributes, and I feel like they all weaved together beautifully.
I’m no expert, but I’d say you’ve broken new ground here. I believe this film offers something for every one of all ages, especially if you’re fascinated by the ocean. I will be viewing this film many more times. F&*k Avatar!
Thank you for inviting me to be a part of this experience.

It doesn't get any bigger than this in the world of surfing - the greatest surfer ever, Kelly Slater, and the gnarliest wave in the world, Teahupoo, all caught in the beauty of IMAX.
