Media Campaign Will Raise Awareness of the Arctic and its Wildlife via Arctic-Themed Programming for Museums, Aquariums and Science Centers

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. -- March 12, 2012 - One World One Ocean has announced a multimedia-centered Arctic Education Campaign in tandem with the release of the new IMAX® documentary adventure To The Arctic 3D, a co-production from Warner Bros. Pictures, MacGillivray Freeman Films and IMAX Corporation, and the first film presentation of One World One Ocean. Narrated by Meryl Streep, To The Arctic 3D will be released exclusively in select IMAX® theatres starting April 20.

The educational campaign, developed in collaboration with MacGillivray Freeman Films, will broaden the lessons from the film with Arctic-themed content available for multiple platforms. Designed for programming by museums and IMAX theatres starting this month, the campaign includes: a lobby display highlighting amazing facts about polar bears and the Arctic region, a speaker tour with award-winning photographer Florian Schulz (whose stunning Arctic images are featured in the film companion book To The Arctic); an educator guide for middle school teachers; grants for Title I school field trips to the film; online resources including educational videos, photo galleries, and downloadables for kids; and a call-to-action initiative for supporters who want to help protect the Arctic.

"To The Arctic 3D is an emotionally powerful film about a polar bear family trying to adapt to a changing Arctic wilderness, and this educational campaign will amplify the impact of the film," said Greg MacGillivray, director of To The Arctic 3D and Chairman of the One World One Ocean Foundation. "With our educational lobby display, online videos and other educational materials, we want viewers to rediscover the unique importance of the Arctic to the well-being of the planet, and get energized about protecting it as one of the last great wildernesses on Earth."

Adds To The Arctic 3D producer Shaun MacGillivray, "One World One Ocean is all about inspiring people to care about and protect ocean environments, and with this educational campaign released in tandem with the film, we hope to highlight the significance of the Arctic as a critical marine environment that deserves our attention and protection."

One World One Ocean is kicking off its Arctic public engagement campaign with the launch of the One World One Ocean Arctic Sweepstakes, which offers one winner an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the Los Angeles premiere of To The Arctic 3D in April. Sweepstakes submissions close March 25.
