You may have noticed many new IMAX theaters crop up in your local multiplexes. While these new IMAX theaters show mostly Hollywood films, the traditional IMAX documentary continues to thrive in IMAX museum theaters. The IMAX screens found in these museum theaters are the biggest screens around. To better distinguish these institutional theaters, museums along with the Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) have launched the new campaign "Bigger. Bolder. Better.™"

The campaign looks to communicate to consumers that the museum IMAX theater offers a premium, immersive movie-going experience. In addition, these screens continue to show traditional documentaries made specifically for the IMAX and Giant Screen format.

GSCA has begun to name theaters as a "Certified Giant Screen™" when they meet certain guidelines. Already, Chattanooga's Tennessee Aquarium IMAX and Pensacola's National Museum of Aviation IMAX have been named the first "Certified Giant Screen™" theaters. More museum theaters have participated in this campaign in hopes to mark their theaters as having one of the biggest movie screens around. You can find out more about the "Bigger. Bolder. Better." campaign on GSCA's website: Link >>
