Category: Press Releases

Laguna Beach, California, September 12, 2007 -- MacGillivray Freeman Films is proud to announce a sponsorship agreement with Kohler Co., a global leader in kitchen and bath design and technology, in support of GRAND CANYON ADVENTURE, the company's new 3D/2D giant screen film that will raise global awareness of world water issues. Kohler is an Official Sponsor of Grand Canyon Adventure and joins Presenting Sponsor Teva in a multi-million dollar national film marketing campaign that includes national advertising, special events and promotions.

"We are extremely proud to have the support of Kohler Co. whose dedication to producing leading products and technologies that help people conserve water strongly underscores Grand Canyon Adventure's positive conservation message," said Patty Collins, MFF Sponsorship and Development Manager. "Kohler's creativity and commitment to enhancing the environment will be a major asset to the film."

"We are delighted to be associated with Grand Canyon Adventure and MacGillivray Freeman Films, who is a proven leader in delivering inspired conservation messages to the public through this powerful entertainment medium," said David Kohler, President of Kohler's Kitchen & Bath Group. "We look forward to working with local exhibitors to promote the film and spread the serious message that saving water in the home is a rewarding and cost-saving experience."

Slated for release on World Water Day, March 22, 2008, Grand Canyon Adventure stars environmental advocate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and preeminent anthropologist and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Wade Davis on a river-rafting expedition down the Colorado River to raise awareness of one of the most pressing environmental stories of our time -- the world's looming freshwater crisis. More than one billion people -- one in five on the planet -- lack access to safe drinking water. By 2050, 40% of the world will suffer water shortages according to the United Nations.

Throughout its nearly 135-year history, Kohler Co. has remained true to its founding vision of defining the frontiers of ideas, craftsmanship and technology. The company offers plumbing products that are designed to conserve natural resources while remaining true to a singular level of quality for performance and design. Whether specifying plumbing products that help buildings become more water-efficient, reducing facility operating costs or accommodating the preferences of homeowners, environmentally conscious Kohler fixtures and faucets address the challenging demands of customers and preserve one of our most precious natural resources.

Through the efforts of extensive research and product development, Kohler seeks to offer the most choices in low-consumption products for both residential and commercial applications and further establishes its industry leadership in offering high-performing plumbing products that save water. With its large portfolio of water-conserving toilets, urinals and faucet technologies, Kohler is well-equipped to provide aggressive water-saving solutions for both commercial and residential applications.

Kohler Co. will host a series of Grand Canyon Adventure screening events across the U.S. that will highlight the company's dedication to water conservation initiatives.

Grand Canyon Adventure will be released under MacGillivray Freeman's Great Adventure Film® brand, a series of films based on real-life adventures in remote locations that celebrate discovery of the natural world. The film is directed by two-time Academy Award®-nominee Greg MacGillivray, produced by Greg MacGillivray, Mark Krenzien and Shaun MacGillivray, written by Jack Stephens, and edited by Stephen Judson. Grand Canyon Adventure is produced by MacGillivray Freeman Films Educational Foundation and presented by Teva in association with Waterkeeper Alliance, Museum Film Network, Reynders, McVeigh Capital Management, and Lowell Blake and Associates.
