New York, April 25, 2007 -- Giant Screen Films announced today that Academy Award® winning actor-producer Michael Douglas has signed on to narrate DINOSAURS ALIVE -- a new film that brings dinosaurs to life in 2D and 3D on the giant screen. Premiering worldwide on IMAX® screens in summer 2007, the film also follows today's top paleontologists into the field for a real-life scientific adventure and a journey of discovery.
"Michael Douglas is one of the most renowned and accomplished actors working in film today, and we are thrilled he can lend his talent to Dinosaurs Alive," said Don Kempf, President and Co-Founder of Giant Screen Films.
Dinosaurs Alive juxtaposes stunningly realistic and scientifically accurate computer generated imagery (CGI) with modern-day dinosaur hunting expeditions, allowing audiences to experience in the incomparable large format the mysterious creatures that dominated the earth for 150 million years. The film travels from Mongolia to the high desert badlands of New Mexico, where some of the richest repositories of dinosaur fossils have been found and where amazing new discoveries continue to be made.
"I am very pleased to be a part of Dinosaurs Alive. At last my kids can see one of my movies!" said Michael Douglas.
Dinosaurs Alive is written and directed by two veteran filmmakers, Academy Award nominated Bayley Silleck and Emmy® Award winning David Clark, with cinematography by Bill Reeve. Digital Artists Montreal Network (DAMN), whose artists have previously worked on dinosaur specials for the Discovery Channel, created the animations featured in Dinosaurs Alive.
