The 8th International Large Format Film Festival took place in La Géode, Paris, from january 15th to february the 3rd 2002, attracting over 30,000 spectators. The Festival awarded 4 films this year, all of which will show (or in the case of Pulse, have begun showing) on the public schedule during the coming year.
The winners were recently announced:
- Pulse: A Stomp Odyssey won both the Grand Prize, chosen by a panel of industry executives, and the Public Choice Award, voted on by the viewing public
- Horses: The Story of Equus received the Youth Prize, chosen from a group of 9-13 year-old schoolchildren.
- Space Station earned the Kodak Vision Award, given to the film with the best cinematography
- Adrenaline Rush: The Science of Risk was awarded a "Special Mention of the Jury"
